SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES: Firefighters should wear full protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus. Use water spray from a safe distance to cool containers exposed to a fire. SDR contains oxidizing agents. In a fire situation that could possibly increase the flammability of combustible mateSDRls, there could be vigorous reactions with reducing agents.
UNUSUAL FIRE / EXPLOSION HAZARDS: SDR contains oxidizers and could form an explosive mixture when combined with reducing agents and finely divided metal powders in sealed containers when exposed to direct fire conditions.

V. HUMAN HEALTH DATA
ROUTE(S) OF ENTRY: Eye Contact, Inhalation, Ingestion
HUMAN EFFECTS AND SYMPTOMS OF OVEREXPOSURE:
ACUTE INHALATION: Inhalation may irritate the respiratory tract. Symptoms may include coughing, shortness of breath, sore throat and runny nose. Symptoms may resemble those of acute ingestion if sufficient amounts are inhaled or absorbed.
ACUTE SKIN CONTACT: Skin contact may cause minor irritation with symptoms of redness, swelling, itching and pain. Persons with sensitive skin may experience more acute reactions.
ACUTE EYE CONTACT: Eye contact may cause irritation with symptoms of redness, swelling, itching, tearing and pain.
ACUTE INGESTION: Ingestion may cause inflammation of the lining membranes of the stomach and the intestines, also abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Systemic effects which may follow, include ringing in the ears, dizziness, elevated blood pressure, blurred vision and tremors.
CHRONIC EFFECTS OF EXPOSURE
CARCINOGENICITY: SDR does not contain chemicals listed by NTP, IARC or OSHA as carcinogens.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS AGGRAVATED BY EXPOSURE:
Persons with preexisting eye problems, skin conditions, sensitivity to chemical contact, or impaired pulmonary function may be more susceptible to the medically related effects of this product.

VI. EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES:
FIRST AID FOR EYES: In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Call a physician.
FIRST AID FOR SKIN: In case of contact, flush skin with water. Wash clothing before reuse. Call a physician if irritation occurs.
FIRST AID FOR INHALATION: If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Call a physician.
FIRST AID FOR INGESTION: If swallowed, call a physician immediately.

VII. EMPLOYEE PROTECTION RECOMMENDATIONS:
EYE PROTECTION REQUIREMENTS: Safety glasses or goggles.
SKIN PROTECTION REQUIREMENTS: PVC gloves with impervious boots, apron or coveralls. Employees should thoroughly wash their hands and face before eating or drinking.
RESPIRATOR REQUIREMENTS: Work area air concentrations should be monitored. In confined areas, a NIOSH/MSHA approved dust respirator must be worn.
VENTILATION REQUIREMENTS: If dusting is a problem, use local ventilation to obtain satisfactory clean air levels in the work area.
ADDITIONAL PROTECTIVE MEASURES: Emergency showers and eye wash stations should be readily available. Educate and train employees in the safe use and handling of this product.

VIII. REACTIVITY DATA:
STABILITY: Stable under ordinary conditions of use and storage.
HAZARDOUS POLYMERIZATION: Will not occur.
INCOMPATIBILITIES: Reducing agents and strong acids.
INSTABILITY CONDITIONS: Excessive temperatures.

ACUTE EFFECTS: Harmful if swallowed. May be harmful if inhaled. Causes eye irritation and may cause skin irritation. Product is irritating to mucous membranes and upper respiratory tract. See section V above.
SDR, as shipped and held at ambient temperatures, should be treated as nuisance dust. When using acceptable hygiene procedures, there should not be any adverse effects.

OSHA STATUS: This product is not hazardous under the Code of Federal Regulation, Labor Reference 29 CFR Ch. XVII, Sec. 1912.1200, subpart G-L, plus Appendix A & Appendix B and also OSHA Instruction CPL 2-2.38A Ch. II, Office of Health Compliance Assistance, Appendix D.

XV. APPROVALS:
The Department of Health, State of Massachusetts is of the opinion that SDR, when used for the purpose and in the manner recommended in the application, will not cause or contribute to a condition of air pollution.

The IndustSDRl Control Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms has stated that SDR does not contain any properties which would cause it to be classified as an explosive mateSDRl under Title XI of the Organized Crime Control Act of 1970.

The United States Coast Guard, under authority of the provisions of the Coast Guard Dangerous Cargo Regulations 46 CFR 147, certified under Certification No. 1039 that SDR can be used as an article of stores on board vessels.

The IndustSDRl HygienDepartment of the Firestone Tire & Rubber Company reviewed the toxicological and safe handling information on SDR and has approved the product for use at any Firestone facility.
