USES:   Melamine Orth-Phosphate 1:1 (MOP) is an excellent flame retardant when incorporated in various plastics I.E., (urea/formaldehyde resins) and textiles. MOP is useable with unsaturated polyester resins in SMC process. MOP can be used with Ammonium Polyphosphate (as a spumescent and a catalyst) In some intumescent applications. Because of the synergism of the combination of the byproducts of MOP (I.E., phosphorus and nitrogen). Only a small quantity is required in formulations. Due to acidic catalysis, inert gas formation and foaming, flames are retarded or eliminated melamine ortho-phosphate doe not contribute to the formation of toxic gases.

HANDLING:   Store in sealed containers at room temperature. Since no exposure limit has been established by OSHA and ACGIH, we recommend that our product be treated as a nuisance dust 15mg/m3. See the MSDS for more information.
