USES:   Sodium hydroxide solutions are used to neutralize acids and to make sodium salts. They also hydrolyze fats, form soaps, precipate alkaloids and most metals, and are used in pharmaceuticals.
 
HANDLING:   Mechanical exhaust is required. Keep in sealed containers. Store in cool, dry place. Avoid inhalation and ingestion. OSHA PEL and ACGIH TLV-TWA have been established for this compound at 2mg/m3. This material is extremely corrosive. See the MSDS for more information.
