USES:   Lead nitrate is used for match manufacturing and explosives. It is also an oxidizer in the dye industry. Lead nitrate also is used to process engraving and mordant in mother-of-pearl staining.
 
HANDLING:   Powerful oxidizing agent. Liberates nitrogen oxides when heated. Avoid inhalation – capable of causing lead poisoning if swallowed. OSHA PEL and ACGIH TLV-TWA have been established for this compound at 0.5mg/m3 as Pb. This product may be subject to SARA section 313 reporting requirements (Pb 62.56%).
